Angora Yarn 80%.
Composition: 80% Angora Rabbit, 20% nylon.
Yardage: 800m/100g(2/16).
Country of origin: China. Made to order for SW yarn, Ukraine.
Color: Turquoise.
Description:
Exceptionally soft and delicate angora yarn with a beautiful fluffy halo that gives a true feeling of warmth and comfort. After the first wash, the yarn blooms even more, becoming voluminous, light, and airy, while the fabric gains a “cloud-like” effect.
Angora 80 is perfect for warm yet lightweight garments: hats, mittens, snoods, sweaters, cardigans, shawls, and capes. The high content of angora rabbit down makes the yarn gentle on the skin, suitable for sensitive skin and children’s items — it is not itchy and causes no irritation. Nylon provides a strong core, helping the yarn keep its shape, resist wear, and eliminating the need for an extra reinforcing thread. Finished pieces are light, warm, and incredibly cozy.
How to properly wet-finish angora
1. Prepare a hot solution.
Dissolve laundry or lanolin soap in very hot water (60–80°C) to create a mild soapy solution.
2. Soak the garment.
Gently submerge the knitted item and leave it until the water cools completely. This removes the factory coating and allows the fibers to open.
3. Washing.
When the water cools to about 30°C, gently press out excess water (do not wring) and wash in a mild detergent or shampoo. Keep the same water temperature for washing and rinsing.
4. Rinsing.
First rinse in water with a little vinegar, then again in water with wool conditioner.
5. Drying.
Lay flat on a towel, shape, and let dry naturally. Do not hang.
6. Final care.
Once fully dry, lightly brush with a nylon brush and gently blow with cool or slightly warm air. The halo will rise, and the angora will become extra fluffy.
