Description: Baby Mohair is our exclusive yarn, produced in China specially for SW-yarn and rewound onto convenient ~50g cones. Fiber content: 60% baby mohair, 10% merino, 30% polyamide. Yardage: about 500m per 50g (1 cone = 1 unit). The yarn is extremely airy, soft, and fluffy — it creates a light “cloud” without extra weight. In the fabric it gives a delicate semi-sheer veil effect: the core thread is thin, and the halo evenly covers the surface, making the piece look voluminous and warm. This is exactly the classic “cobweb” look. For one airy cobweb-style sweater you usually need around 100–150g (2–3 cones), depending on size, density, and stitch pattern. The yarn looks beautiful in lace and in plain stockinette; the stitches come out even. Our swatch from this yarn turns out light, semi-transparent, with an even halo and no harshness — it looks refined and expensive, very close to luxury kid mohair. Perfect for shawls, wraps, stoles, delicate featherweight sweaters, top-down raglans, boleros. It’s an ideal choice if you want that premium mohair halo, but in smaller cones and with a color you can match to your project right away.
