The company Lineapiù was founded in Capalle, near Florence, in 1975 thanks to the brilliant idea of Giuliano Coppini. Committed to research and innovation, the company quickly became a recognized global leader in yarn for the knitwear industry, offering collections distinguished by creative innovations and high quality.
Lineapiù has made significant strides in revolutionizing the history of knitwear. In 1987, it introduced the first 100% viscose yarn. Then, in 1990, the company developed Relax, a yarn containing carbon designed to provide protection against electromagnetic radiation. At the beginning of the 21st century, Lineapiù created and launched what is known as “air yarn.” Thanks to its hollow core, it provides excellent protection against temperature fluctuations and severe cold.
Italian excellence, embodied in the company’s history, working methods, and creative and production innovations, has transformed the knitwear industry in Italy and worldwide. Since 2010, Alessandro Bastagli, admired and recognized by some of the world’s most famous designers, has been responsible for developing Lineapiù’s product range. Year after year, Lineapiù’s laboratories produce yarns that set trends in terms of color, texture, and blends.
All production takes place at the company’s own facilities, ensuring that every product is 100% made in Italy. Each season, the three collections—Lineapiù, Filclass, and Lineapiù Knit Art—are enriched with new items.
Since 1975, Lineapiù has created over 4,000 types of yarn, more than 30,000 knitwear samples, and thousands of experimental knitwear pieces. This wealth of materials, a true “treasure,” is preserved in the Archivio Storico Lineapiù.
